Medical Journal of Australia, 16 March 2020. Safe Airway Society consensus, for people who put tubes in throats. The community line came with it: transmission is “primarily through droplet and fomite.” Drops fall in “a few seconds,” “short distances.” Aerosols? Plausible under certain conditions, “not the primary mechanism… in the community.”

What did have a receipt:

• That sentence is why Australia wiped benches and stood on crosses. 1.5 m to stop the spread is this paper, sent as an SMS.
• Choirs, restaurants, poorly ventilated rooms did not behave like spit that hits the floor in a few seconds. WHO later treated airborne spread as real. The tape on the supermarket floor did not come up.
• “Not the primary mechanism” is a hedge. The policy treated it as a no.

Grammar: droplet, fomite, few seconds. Logic: hanging indoor air is not a bench. Rhetoric: primarily.
