ACARA Version 9, Year 4 History, code AC9HS4K04 — a content description, which the Authority treats as essential knowledge. Students learn the effects of contact after the First Fleet “and how this was viewed by First Nations Australians as an invasion.” SMH, 29 April 2021 put the draft on the front of the fight. The word survived into the live curriculum.

This card files that word as essential knowledge. It does not file “nobody was dispossessed” and it does not file “Cook invented Australia.”

What did have a receipt:

  • The same curriculum, later years, asks students to discuss why invasion, colonisation and settlement remain contested. Year 4 does not. Year 4 states the view as the thing to be taught.
  • The Conversation, after the Senate CRT vote: teaching how First Nations people “experienced colonisation” is “not necessarily a direct influence of critical race theory.” The content description does not say “some people say.” It says “how this was viewed… as an invasion.”
  • The IPA named the HASS curriculum’s “undertones of Critical Race Theory.” The official file is the meter. Open AC9HS4K04.

Grammar: was viewed as. Logic: a perspective taught as essential knowledge is a slogan. Rhetoric: invasion.
