Judea or Judaea … Hebrew: יהודה … Yəhūda … is a mountainous region of the Levant. Traditionally dominated by the city of Jerusalem, it is now part of Israel and the West Bank. The name is derived from the Hebrew name Yehudah, and was used during the Babylonian, Persian, Hellenistic, and Roman periods.

In the aftermath of the Bar Kokhba revolt (c. 132–136 CE), the Roman province of Judaea was renamed Syria Palaestina.

The Kingdom of Judah was an Israelite kingdom of the Southern Levant during the Iron Age. Centered in the highlands to the west of the Dead Sea, the kingdom's capital was Jerusalem. It was ruled by the House of David for four centuries. Jews are named after Judah, and primarily descend from people who lived in the region.

The English word Jew is from Hebrew Yehudi — a Judahite. That is an etymology. It is not a land title and it is not a Gaza casualty figure.

What this file does not do

It does not file “Palestinians are not a people.” It does not file “the West Bank has no occupation argument.” Settlements after 1967 are a different meter from “Jews are foreign to Judea.”
