Capture — rights will be taken

Verbatim (Guardian)

When Kaylee, who is in Year 8 and uses they/them pronouns, asked for the day off school, their mum requested they lay out their reasoning. They presented her with a four-page essay.

“People of a different race shouldn’t lose their rights,” Kaylee said. “And queer people have already had a lot of issues with fighting for their rights, and if that gets taken away too, that’s not OK.”

Asked why they thought Hanson should not be in charge, Kaylee simply said: “I just don’t think she should be able to make those kinds of choices”.

The four-page essay is not published. The interview does not name a bill, a vote, or a policy that would remove those rights.

Same week, same theme (ABC)

“I’m tired of the injustices that Pauline Hanson is threatening … and the whole One Nation party is threatening to do, if they go into office.”

“Do not run for office, and stop hating on the people who just want to be themselves.”

What else is checkable (the good stuff)

  • Hanson did call for a “monocultural” Australia at the National Press Club, June 2026 (Guardian, same article).
  • Roy Morgan 3–9 August 2026: One Nation 26% primary (roy-morgan-2026-08-10.html).
  • NUS cited her Senate votes against free TAFE, public-school funding and student-debt relief. That record is a different claim, and it has a source. This card is about the rights-will-be-removed leap.
