Not a publicity stunt
The siege-breaking cargo was 250 kilos of rice and 100 of flour. The cameras were heavier.

Greta Thunberg, 28 September 2025, on the BBC, sailing with the Global Sumud Flotilla. Israel had called the June boat a “selfie yacht.” She said nobody would risk their life for a stunt. The purpose, she said, was to “break Israel’s illegal and inhumane siege on Gaza by sea.” Also: “not just a humanitarian mission” — a message that the people will step up.
This card files that verb. It does not file “Greta is a hypocrite” and it does not file “the blockade is fine.”
What did have a receipt:
- The first trip, Madleen, left Catania on 1 June 2025. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition called the cargo “urgently needed supplies” and the job “break the siege.” The hold: 100 kg of flour, 250 kg of rice, baby formula, diapers, medical kits, crutches. Twelve people. BBC: a token amount. AP: Israeli officials said less than a truckload.
- Israeli navy boarded Madleen about 185 km from Gaza on 9 June. Thunberg was deported the next day. She called it a kidnapping. The rice did not open a corridor.
- She went again in September. Same slogan. Intercepted again, 1–2 October 2025, with hundreds of others. Same ending.
A siege is a logistics problem. 350 kilos of grain is a press list. Open both holds.
