Not taught in schools
Law school only. Then the same conference booked the author of the classroom edition.
Critical race theory is not taught in elementary schools or high schools.
Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, TEACH 2021, 6 July 2021: “Let’s be clear: critical race theory is not taught in elementary schools or high schools.” It is, she said, a law-school method. The same speech vowed to defend teachers against “culture warriors” who “label any discussion of race” as CRT. CBS ran the line as the union’s position.
This card files that sentence. It does not file “no child should hear that slavery happened.”
What did have a receipt:
- The same AFT conference put Ibram X. Kendi on the program. His classroom book says the only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination.
- The Pulitzer Center’s 1619 Project curriculum was already in thousands of K-12 classrooms. Medill, July 2020: more than 4,500 schools.
- Weingarten’s own definition of CRT — a method that “helps analyze whether systemic racism exists” — is the same noun the Australian Racism. No Way! site and ACARA’s invasion line already put in front of children. The brand stays in law school. The nouns go to Year 4.
Grammar: is not taught. Logic: a brand can be absent while the method is assigned. Rhetoric: honest history.
